Firms: a cleaner "View as"#

When a firm admin looks at Verasol through a colleague's eyes with "View as", Vera's buttons are now hidden, since nothing can be done in that view.

Fixed#

• Vera's buttons hidden in "View as": "View as" lets a firm admin see exactly what a member of staff sees, without being able to change anything. Vera's buttons were still shown there although she can't be used in that view; they are hidden now and come back when you return to your own account.

Bank reconciliation: three gaps closed#

A full check of every button on the bank reconciliation screens found three gaps, all closed: undoing a cheque cleared from a statement line now reverses the clearing, a reconciliation that was finalized and reopened can no longer be discarded, and the account choices when booking a line no longer offer the bank's own accounts.

Fixed#

• Undo of "Clear this cheque": When a post-dated cheque was cleared from a bank statement line and the line was then undone, the line came loose but the cheque stayed "cleared" and its entry stayed in the books, with no way back. Undo now reverses the clearing on its own date (the original entry is kept, as always) and the cheque waits for the bank again, offered on the line as before.
• A reopened reconciliation cannot be discarded: A reconciliation that was finalized and then reopened for a correction is finalized again, never thrown away: the screen already hid the Discard button for it, and Verasol now refuses it everywhere, with a message saying what to do instead.
• Account choices when booking a line: The card clearing account and "other" account lists offered the bank and cash accounts' own ledger accounts, which Verasol then refused (a line to one of them is a transfer between your own accounts). They are left out now.

Vera starts from the quote or order#

Before Vera records a bill or an invoice she looks for the quote or order it belongs to. If there is one, she makes the document from it; if there is none, she says so and asks you first.

Improved#

• Bills and invoices follow their quote or order: Give Vera a supplier invoice and she first checks the supplier's open purchase orders; ask for a sales invoice and she checks the customer's open quotes and sales orders. When one fits, the bill or invoice is made from it, so its lines come along and nothing is entered twice. When there is none, for example 20 laptops bought over a shop counter, she tells you there is no quote or order and records it only after you confirm. Running costs nobody gets a quote for, such as fuel, taxis or utilities, need no question.

Vera opens folded sections during a tour#

When a tour step points at something inside a closed section, such as an account in the General Ledger, Vera opens that section herself.

Improved#

• The General Ledger tour shows its columns: In the General Ledger each account's entries sit in a section that starts closed, so a tour step about «Date» found nothing to point at. Vera now opens the first section that holds it. This only changes what is shown on the screen.

In a guided tour, pressing Next on a tab or a button that only goes to another screen now lets Vera press it for you, so the next step is there.

Improved#

• No more "go back and click it": A tour of the reports pointed at the «Trial Balance Report» tab and then at its columns. Pressing Next without clicking the tab left the columns out of sight, and the tour asked you to go back. Vera now opens such a tab or screen herself, and if a step was skipped she goes back and opens it. She only does this for tabs and buttons that move to another screen; anything that saves, sends, deletes, downloads or opens a window is still yours to click.

Partly paid documents counted as what they are#

Moving from Zoho Books: an invoice or bill is counted by what is still due, not by Zoho's label, so the reconciliation's document counts tie when the money ties.

Fixed#

• "Overdue" that is really "partly paid": Zoho Books labels a partly paid invoice or bill "overdue" once it is past due. Verasol counted it as partly paid, Zoho's label as open, and the reconciliation showed a difference in the document counts although every balance tied. The status now follows the amounts on both sides.

Books check before the import#

Moving from Zoho Books: right after each pull, Verasol checks that the books hold together. Problems are corrected in Zoho Books, never copied in; doubtful points are confirmed by an accountant. Nothing is loaded until the check passes.

Zoho Books trial balance as of each date#

Verasol now asks Zoho Books for its trial balance as of each date, the way an accountant reads it, so the opening balances are compared with the right figures.

The TRN from Zoho Books is found#

Verasol now reads the TRN and VAT registration date where Zoho Books keeps them, so a company moving over keeps its VAT registration.

Fixed assets booked by journal in Zoho Books#
