The timeline
Everything that happens in your company, as it happens, on one page: what people did on the screens, what Vera did and why, what Verasol did by itself, with every change shown before and after.
Verasol keeps one timeline of everything that happens in your company: a page opened, a button clicked, a field changed, a record saved, an invoice issued, a sign-in, a background job, an e-mail, a file import, and everything Vera does or hears, with her reason. Nothing is ever edited or removed from it. If it is not on the timeline, it did not happen. Vera answers "what did you do?" and "who changed this?" from the same timeline, so what she tells you and what you see here always agree.
Open the timeline#
Open Settings › Timeline. The newest entries are at the top, and the page keeps itself up to date: do something in another tab, or let a colleague do it, and the entry appears within a few seconds, briefly marked green. Pause 4 stops the updating while you read; Resume starts it again.
Each line says when it happened, who did it (a person, Vera or the system), which area of the books it belongs to, what kind of entry it is, and the record it concerns. Entries that were refused, failed or found nothing carry a badge saying so.
What you see depends on your role. You always see what you did yourself and what Vera did for you. You also see what other people did to the records your role may read: an accountant without payroll rights does not see payroll entries. The company owner sees everything, except other people's own conversations with Vera.
Find what you are looking for#
- 1 Done by: people, Vera or the system, and Person narrows it to one colleague.
- Area and 2 Kind: for example only Record change, only Vera's action, or only Sign-in.
- From and To: a period, in the company's time.
- Record and Number or name: everything about one invoice, bill or customer.
- Words in the line: a customer name, an invoice number, a word from the line.
- 3 How much to show: by default the page shows what was done and what people did on the screens. What was done hides the pages opened, clicks and fields; Everything, also what pages read in the background shows every request a page made.
Open an entry#
Click a line. The panel shows the full picture of that entry.
- Details: for a record change, 1 Fields lists each field with its value before and after. For something Vera did: why (the words you said and her reason), what was asked, the answer, what it changed and what it caused. For a request from a screen: what was sent and what the server answered. Where a value was a password, a one-time code, a card number or a key, the entry says that the value is not recorded.
- 2 Story: everything linked to this entry, from the first cause to the last effect: the click, the request it sent, the rows that request changed, and the journal entry, e-mail or job that followed. Each entry stands under the one that caused it.
- 3 History of the record: everything that ever happened to this record, by anyone, oldest first, and how it stands now (exists, deleted, its status).
