Chat with Vera
Ask Vera about your books, give her documents to read, let her open screens or show you how something is done, and get tax answers with their legal basis.
On the AI Assistant page you chat with Vera by typing. Ask her about your books, have her prepare work, give her a document to read, or let her show you around Verasol. She answers from the books of the company that is open: the amounts she gives you are looked up in your books when you ask, never taken from memory.
Start a conversation#
- Open AI Assistant in the main menu.
- Type your question in the message box and press Enter, or click the blue send button.
- Vera answers. While she works, a short line tells you what she is doing, for example "Checking your books…" or "Reading the tax law…". To stop her, click the red Stop button.
- 1 New Conversation starts a fresh conversation.
- 2 Your earlier conversations are under Recent Conversations. Click one to read it again or carry on with it.
- 3 The message box. The microphone button next to it (Voice input) lets you speak your question instead: Vera turns it into text.
- 4 Attach file gives Vera a document to read.
- 5 Think deeper asks for a deeper review of your next message. The answer takes longer and uses more AI, so keep it for the hard questions.
Next to the time of each answer, the play button reads the answer aloud and the PDF button saves it as a PDF.
Give her a document to read#
Click Attach file (the paperclip), or drop the files onto the chat. Vera reads PDFs, photos and scans (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF), Excel workbooks (.xlsx and .xls), CSV and text files. Of an Excel workbook she reads each sheet, up to 10 sheets, 5,000 rows and 60 columns per sheet. Then say what you want, for example "Record this bill" or "What is the VAT on this invoice?".
When she prepares a document from a file, she checks it against your books first: the supplier's earlier bills and how they were coded, a possible duplicate, and whether the date can still be booked. She saves a draft and tells you what she decided and why.
Vera sees the screen you are on#
When you chat in the panel beside a page, Vera knows which screen you are on and what it shows: its headings, the fields and their values, and the lines of a list or report with their figures. The same applies to the screen you came from when you open the AI Assistant page. So you can ask "What does this figure mean?" or "Explain this report" without describing it.
She opens screens for you#
Ask "Take me to the profit and loss report". Vera says which screen she is opening, and a bar above the message box counts down. Click Open now to go at once, or Stay here to stay on the AI Assistant page.
The screen opens with the conversation in a panel beside it:
- 1 The panel holds the same conversation. Keep asking while you look at the page; it stays open when you move to other screens.
- 2 Open the full chat takes you back to the AI Assistant page with this conversation.
- 3 Close the assistant closes the panel.
When Vera points at a button or a field, the page dims except that item. Later, the button under her answer (for example Open Profit & Loss Report) opens the same screen again.
She only opens screens your role may open. If you may not open one, she tells you: "You don't have access to this screen. Ask the company owner for access."
"Show me how": guided tours#
Ask "Show me how to add a new customer", or "Walk me through the VAT return". Vera opens each screen in turn. The page dims except the button or field of the step. Beside it, the step tells you what to do there and where the screen is in the menu.
- Click the highlighted item, or 1 Next, to go to the next step. Back goes one step back.
- 2 End tour stops the tour.
When a step is behind a tab or a button that only opens another screen, press Next and Vera opens it for you; when what she points at is in a closed section, such as an account in the General Ledger, she opens that section. Buttons that save, send, delete or open a window are always yours to press.
The last step is the button that saves. Vera points at it, and you press it yourself. Show me again under her answer repeats the tour.
Tax questions, with the legal basis#
Ask about VAT, corporate tax or UAE labour law, and Vera looks the rule up in the official texts before she answers. The answer comes first, in a sentence or two, then the points that matter. The law she relies on is folded into a Legal basis line under the point. Click it to read the article and the reasoning.
Before a tax answer reaches you, it is checked against the texts it cites. When Vera cannot confirm a point, she says so plainly: what she could confirm, what she could not and why, and the fact or reading of the law she needs from you. She never gives an unconfirmed point as fact. The same goes for figures: if she could not get an amount from your books, she says so instead of guessing.
Write a letter or an email#
- Click Write Document at the top of the AI Assistant page. The Generate Document window opens.
- Choose the kind of document: a letter, an email, a notice, a memo or a general text.
- Describe it under What would you like to write?, for example the customer and the invoices a payment reminder is about.
- Click Generate. Check the text, then Copy it, Regenerate it, or save it with Download as PDF or Download as text.
The documents you write are listed under Generated Documents while you are on the page. Download the ones you want to keep.
Tell us how Vera did#
When you leave a conversation in which Vera has answered you at least twice (you start a new conversation, open another one, go to another page or close the panel beside a page), a small card asks How did Vera do? It sits in a corner of the screen and does not stop your work.
- Choose 1 to 5 stars.
- Tick what applies: for 1 to 3 stars, what could be better (for example Misunderstood me or Wrong or incomplete answer); for 4 or 5 stars, what went well (for example Saved me time).
- Add a comment if you like, then click Send.
Not now closes the card, and Verasol does not ask about that conversation again. Don't ask for 7 days stops the question for a week. You are asked once per conversation.
Your answer reaches the Verasol team together with the conversation, so they can see what went wrong. It does not change Vera by itself: a person reads it first.
