Instructions, memory and voice
Tell Vera how to address you and what you do, give her standing instructions for the company, see and delete what she remembers, and choose her voice on calls.
You can shape how Vera works with you and your team in Settings › Vera's instructions. Some settings are personal: how she addresses you, what you do, what she remembers for you, and her voice on your calls. Others are for the whole company: the company's instructions and what she remembers for everyone. Vera uses changes from your next message.
About you#
Each person fills in their own About you, so Vera explains things at the right level.
- 1 How should Vera address you?: for example your first name, or "Mr Omar".
- 2 Your job title: choose one from the list or type your own.
- 3 Anything Vera should know about how you work (optional): up to 300 characters, for example "I'm new to UAE corporate tax; explain the rules briefly."
- 4 Vera's voice on calls: the voice she uses when you talk to her. It applies from your next call, in the app and by phone.
Click Save. Vera uses it from your next message.
What Vera remembers#
Vera keeps lasting facts and preferences between conversations and on calls: how a customer pays, how the company books something, how you like your answers. She saves them when you tell her to remember something, or say "from now on" or "always". You can see, add and delete them here.
- 1 Each item shows who it is for (You, Company, or You, every company), where it came from (From a chat, From a call or Added here), who added it and when.
- 2 The bin (Forget) deletes an item, after you confirm. You can also tell Vera to forget something.
- 3 To add an item yourself, type it in the box, choose who it is for and 4 click Remember.
Who it is for:
| Choice | Who it applies to |
|---|---|
| For me | You, in this company |
| For me, in every company | You, in every company you work in: your own way of working |
| For the company | Everyone in this company who works with Vera |
Only the owner or an accountant can add or delete items for the whole company. If someone else asks Vera to remember something for the company, she keeps it for that person only.
Instructions for Vera#
The company's instructions tell Vera how your team likes to work: the words you use, how long her answers should be, what she should always mention. She follows them in every conversation for this company.
- Open Settings › Vera's instructions and go to Your instructions.
- Type your instructions, one per line, up to 1,500 characters. Under Ideas, click a suggestion to add it, then change the wording as you like.
- Click Save. Vera follows the new instructions from the next message.
1 Your instructions, 2 Ideas, 3 What these instructions cannot change.
Everyone in the company can read the instructions. Only the owner or an accountant can change them; the line under the box shows who changed them last and when, and every change is recorded in the audit log.
What instructions cannot change#
Instructions change Vera's wording, tone and emphasis, not the rules:
- She always keeps Verasol's accounting rules: entries are prepared as drafts for your approval, closed periods stay closed, and VAT and corporate tax follow UAE law.
- She only does what the signed-in person is allowed to do, and she never invents or rounds figures to fit an instruction.
- If an instruction asks for something she cannot do, she tells you in one plain sentence.
