What Vera can and cannot do
The parts of Verasol Vera works in, what she does herself, what she prepares for your approval, what always stays with a person, and how far her tax knowledge goes.
Vera works across Verasol: sales, purchases, banking, VAT, corporate tax, payroll, fixed assets, stock and reports. She looks things up in your books, prepares the work, and shows you where things are. This page sets out what she can do, where a person has to approve, and where her role ends.

If you work in an accountancy firm, she can also answer across your clients: their status, VAT due, unreconciled banks, the close, what waits for approval and the deadlines. See The firm portal.
What she does herself, and what she prepares#
She does these herself, because nothing is booked:
- looks up anything in the books that your role may see;
- adds and updates customers, suppliers, items and employees, except bank details and pay;
- saves quotes, and records attendance, leave requests, expense claims and staff loans (approving a leave request or a claim, or paying out a loan, is a separate step that she proposes for your approval);
- writes letters and payment reminders for you to check (nothing is sent);
- remembers what you ask her to remember.
She prepares these as drafts, for a person to approve on their own screen: sales invoices, credit notes, supplier bills and debit notes, journal entries, receipts and payments, purchase and sales orders, goods receipts and delivery notes, the VAT return (worked out from the books, never filed), a month's depreciation and a month's payroll. When she prepares one, she tells you what she decided and why, and where to approve it.
A bill or an invoice normally follows a quote or an order. Before she records one, Vera looks for the supplier's open purchase orders, or the customer's open quotes and sales orders. When one fits, she makes the bill or invoice from it, so its lines come along and nothing is entered twice. When there is none, for example goods bought over a shop counter, she tells you there is no quote or order and asks whether that is right; she records it only after you confirm. Running costs nobody gets a quote for, such as fuel, taxis, utilities or rent, need no question. Your answer is kept with the document in the timeline.
She proposes these in Awaiting your approval: cheque steps, bank matches and bank lines, transfers between your accounts, stock adjustments, leave and expense claim approvals, staff loan payouts, applying a credit, fixed asset registrations and disposals, and VAT payments.
If the owner has switched on YOLO mode, she issues, approves and posts her invoices, credit notes, bills, debit notes, journal entries and payments herself, approves or confirms her orders, finishes her goods receipts and delivery notes, and approves her own proposals. The VAT return, the payroll and the depreciation she prepares still wait for a person.
What always stays with a person#
Whatever you ask, and also in YOLO mode, a person does these in Verasol:
- filing VAT and corporate tax returns;
- processing payroll;
- closing and reopening periods;
- deleting or voiding documents, and reversing posted entries;
- changing bank details, salaries and other pay settings;
- adding or changing accounts in the chart of accounts (Vera proposes the account, with its code, name and type, for you to add);
- recording intercompany transactions, whose figures go into the corporate tax return;
- entering customer opening balances and the opening VAT balance, because they go into the books at once.
When you ask for one of these, Vera tells you so in a plain sentence, offers what she can prepare, and gives you the steps.
Her tax knowledge#
Vera knows UAE VAT, corporate tax and labour law as they apply to the work in Verasol: VAT on sales and purchases, input VAT recovery and blocked VAT, the reverse charge, the VAT return, corporate tax add-backs, payroll, leave and end-of-service gratuity. She takes it from the official texts: the laws, their executive regulations, cabinet decisions and FTA guidance. She takes into account the version of the law that applied on the date in question, including later amendments.
When she answers a tax question, she cites the law and the article she relies on, folded into a Legal basis line under her answer. See Chat with Vera.
Honest answers#
- Every amount, document number and name she gives you comes from your books or from you. If she could not get a figure, she says so instead of estimating it.
- She does not say that something does not exist without looking it up first.
- A tax answer is checked against the texts it cites before you see it. When she cannot confirm a point, she says what she could confirm, what she could not and why, and what she needs from you.
- If a request does not make accounting sense, for example a payment against an invoice that is still a draft, she explains why and offers the right way instead.
Vera can still make mistakes. Check what she prepared before you approve it.
She works within your permissions#
Vera acts for the person she is talking to. Verasol applies that person's role to everything she reads and does, exactly as on the screens:
- she sees only the figures your role may see;
- she prepares or proposes only what your role may do: if your role does not include banking, she cannot propose a bank transfer for you;
- she opens only the screens your role may open.
She works only in the company that is open. Every record she creates or changes is listed, with who asked and why, in Settings › What Vera did. See AI usage and activity.
