Welcome to Verasol
What Verasol is, who it is for, what Vera does, and where to start in these docs.
Verasol is accounting and business software for companies in the UAE and the wider GCC, in English and Arabic. The name stands for Voice-Enabled Resource Automation Solution: you can type to Vera, the assistant inside Verasol, or talk to her, and she does the work in Verasol with you. The one idea to keep in mind: Vera prepares, a person approves.
What Verasol covers#
Verasol keeps a company's books and the work around them in one place:
- Sales: customers, quotes, sales orders, delivery notes, tax invoices, credit notes and money received.
- Purchases: vendors, purchase orders, goods receipts, purchase invoices, debit notes and payments to suppliers.
- Banking: bank, cash and card accounts, transfers, bank reconciliation, post-dated cheques and cheque printing.
- Tax: VAT returns, the FTA Audit File, e-invoicing and corporate tax.
- Payroll and HR with the WPS salary file, inventory, fixed assets and reports.
Everything you record is kept in a double-entry ledger. Entries that are posted are never edited: a mistake is corrected with a reversing entry, so your audit trail stays complete. How Verasol keeps your books explains this in detail.
Who it is for#
- Accountancy and audit firms that keep the books of several client companies. A firm has its own portal for its accountants, client companies and deadlines. See For accountancy firms.
- Groups with several companies, each with its own books, that you switch between in the top bar.
- Growing companies that keep their own books, with their own team and roles.
Meet Vera#
Vera is the AI assistant inside Verasol. You can type to her in the AI Assistant, or talk to her with Talk to Vera at the top of the main menu: in your browser, or she calls your phone. Ask her about your figures, ask her to prepare an invoice or an entry, or say "show me how" and she guides you on the screen, in English or Arabic.
Nothing Vera prepares is final until a person approves it, unless your company has switched on YOLO mode. A draft, such as an invoice or a journal entry, waits on its own screen; a proposal, such as a cheque deposit or a bank match, waits in Awaiting your approval. Some things are always for a person, such as filing a VAT or corporate tax return and closing a period. Read Meet Vera to learn more.
When you sign in for the first time, Verasol opens a short welcome. It introduces Vera and asks a few questions about you and your work, so she can answer at the right level for you.
1 Next: tell Vera about you takes you to the questions. Later, you can change how Vera addresses you, your job title and your note in Settings › Vera's instructions, or answer all the questions again with See the welcome again there.
1 Talk to Vera starts a call with Vera. 2 AI Assistant opens the chat. 3 Awaiting your approval lists the proposals Vera prepared for you to approve.
How these docs are organised#
The docs follow the main menu of Verasol. Each section covers one area:
| Section | What you find there |
|---|---|
| Getting started | Signing in, your first company, the screens, and moving from your current software. |
| Vera, your AI assistant | Chatting and talking with Vera, approvals and what she can do. |
| Sales, Purchases and expenses, Banking | The daily work: invoices, bills, payments and the bank. |
| VAT, Corporate Tax | Returns, payments and the FTA files. |
| Accounting, Reports | The chart of accounts, journal entries, closing periods and the reports. |
| Inventory, Payroll and HR, Fixed assets, International business | The optional areas. |
| Settings and your team, For accountancy firms, Help | Company settings, your team, the firm portal and how to reach us. |
Each article opens with what the screen is for, then walks through the tasks in numbered steps. Where an action posts to your books, the article shows what Verasol books. Names of buttons, menus and fields are written in bold type, exactly as you see them on the screen.
